Man beats Cigarette Seller To Death Over N50 Change
A man has beaten a cigarette seller to death following disagreements over N50 change.
The victim, Mukaila Adamu, aged 30, was actually standing in for his father, Adamu Abubakar at his shop in Ajegunle area of Idiroko, Ogun State when the suspect, 32-year-old man, Biodun Adebiyi came to buy cigarettes.
The elder cigarette seller, who narrated the incident to the police, said when the suspect came about 2 p.m., that it was his son, Mukaila, that attended to him.
He added that at about 10 p.m., Adebiyi reportedly returned to the cigarette shop and demanded for N50 as his balance, at which argument ensued between the two
In the course of the argument, the suspect started raining blows on Mukaila with his fists.
Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident, said the victim reportedly collapsed, resulting in his being rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
According to Oyeyemi, the Divisional Police Officer in charge, CSP Shadrach Oriloye, had reportedly visited the area to ascertain things for himself.
Oyeyemi also said that the corpse of the deceased had been deposited in a mortuary for autopsy.

That is not all, but that the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and subsequent prosecution.
