Manchester United’s exiled striker Mason Greenwood is unlikely to remain at Old Trafford next season and one La Liga side are looking to snap him up.

Due to off-field problems, Greenwood was exiled by the Red Devils and is anticipated to sever connections with United this summer. The England attacker had been linked to a move to Borussia Dortmund, but Die Schwarzgelben have now shelved that rumour.

The 22-year-old’s possible destination, according to a report by HITC, is Atletico Madrid. If United decides not to terminate the youngster’s contract this summer, the Rojiblancos are eager to begin negotiations with both United and the player.

The striker won Los Azulones’ Player of the Season award in 2023–2024 after a fruitful loan at La Liga team Getafe. During his first Spanish league season, he scored eight goals for Jose Boradalas’ team and picked up six assists, which had to have drawn the attention of Atletico Madrid’s management.

According to the sources, Greenwood would love to stay in Spain because he enjoyed the country while on loan at Getafe, despite interest from other teams. He received the Player of the Season award from the team.
