Following the international retirement of veterans, PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe is the front-runner to assume the captain’s hat for Les Bleus.

Lloris’ decision to retire following the World Cup 2022 leaves Les Bleus without a captain.

Senior players like Raphael Varane and Karim Benzema have also since retired from international competition.

Mbappe has 66 national team appearances under his belt while being just 24 years old. He played on the team that won the World Cup in 2018, and in 2022, when Les Bleus reached the final but lost to Argentina, he won the Golden Boot award.

Additionally, Kylian won the Nations League trophy in 2021, and he continues to be essential to the team’s hopes for further success.
