Kylian Mbappe ‘Can’t Wait’ To Join New Club After Tough Times At PSG

Ahead of an anticipated move to Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe says he “can’t wait” to join his new team and acknowledges that life at Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t been easy.

It is generally anticipated that Mbappe would leave Paris Saint-Germain after seven years and sign with Real Madrid this summer. The 25-year-old is excited about the prospect of winning championships with his new teammates and has revealed that he will be leaving the Ligue 1 squad. Although the French World Cup winner does not regret choosing to continue on at PSG until 2022, there are aspects of his experience that he would like others not go through.

He told CNN: “I want to be happy. I will leave my country for the first time. It’s going to be an amazing experience and I can’t wait to be in my new club. I want to win trophies. When you speak about football, [it’s about] winning trophies, being with new team-mates. Now, I have my contract with PSG. Everybody knows that it’s soon finishing and we’re going to see what happens.”

On his decision to stay in Paris in 2022, he added: “It was more than just staying at PSG. It was the World Cup in Qatar. It was many things around these things. It was a big decision, difficult decision … but I don’t regret anything. Of course, in a career, you have to take difficult decisions and it’s what I did, but I became the all-time top scorer with PSG. I just want to remember the best things. It was not an easy situation and I wish nobody to live that.”

Mbappe, the club’s record scorer, departs PSG following an extraordinary run of success. Even though he earned a tonne of awards while playing for the French team, they were never Champions League winners, and he now has a great opportunity to win the title at Real Madrid.

The France international will compete for his country in this year’s European Championship in Germany prior to Mbappe’s departure from PSG being officially confirmed and his arrival at Madrid being declared.
