Klopp Gives Fitness Update As Liverpool Get Huge Salah Boost 

Mohamed Salah’s readiness to play again has given Liverpool a significant boost ahead of their Premier League matchup with Brentford.

During his trip for the Africa Cup of Nations, the famous Egyptian took an unfortunate fall. After being quiet for a while, he went back to England for treatment, where it was discovered that a muscular issue was more serious than initially thought.

In a 4-2 victory over Newcastle on New Year’s Day, Salah scored twice in his final game for Liverpool. This week, he returned to the training field and may get more playing time when the team travels to Brentford. “Mo is back in full training,” Reds manager Jurgen Klopp stated. That automatically puts him in the running.

Salah is not the only senior star back at Klopp’s disposal, with the German going on to say when delivering a full update on his squad ahead of a meeting with the Bees: “Ibou [Ibrahima Konate] is not suspended any more, Joey [Gomez] is fit again, Conor [Bradley] is back, Ali [Alisson] is back, so that’s all positive.”

Regarding the ones that are ruled out, Klopp continued, adding that Trent Alexander-Arnold is once again sidelined: “Thiago [Alcantara], no. And Trent, no. I wasn’t really aware of it but I caught some of the news there was a discussion we might have forced Trent back, he has had setbacks and nobody wants that. As long as I’ve been here we’ve never forced anyone back. But we work in a high performance area. We always try to catch them at the earliest moment, unfortunately when we catch that early nobody speaks about that. The last decision is always by the player. When the boys played they were fit, but the situation told us differently as it happened again. Very, very unlucky and unfortunate.”

Premier League leaders Liverpool are leading going into the most recent round of games. Three-time Golden Boot winner Salah’s return will be welcomed as they try to gain momentum since they are only two points ahead of defending champions Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
