Kemi Adeosun Has Not Resigned – Aide Declares

Kemi Adeosun, the Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, has not resigned her appointment, a senior aide has declared.

Earlier today, a report had emerged from the Daily Trust that the minister, who is alleged to be in possession of a fake exemption certificate of the National Youth Service Corps, had resigned her appointment from the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.

But in a bizzare twist, an unamed individual, whom the Nigerian Tribune described as a senior aide, debunked reports of her purported resignation.

According to the aide, the certificate saga is an agenda instigated by critics of the Minister.

The aide said, “It is not true.

“You should notice that we have not spoken on this matter since July 7 when the issue of NYSC certificate broke.

“It is an agenda that they are pursuing and we will not help them to authenticate that.

“I am here with you. You can also see the other aides and security details at their duty posts.

“Even the Minister is in her office right now carrying on with her work. Don’t mind them.”

Adeosun has been under immense pressure since Premium Times, an online newspaper, published a report alleging that she skipped the mandatory one-year NYSC programme and used a fake certificate for her clearance both as a commissioner in Ogun State and a federal Minister.
