Juventus To Offload Pogba Amid Injury Crisis

Juventus is considering selling Paul Pogba or even terminating his contract, which casts serious doubt on the Frenchman’s future at the club.

Six years after leaving the Serie A club to sign with Manchester United for a then-record £100 million fee, the 29-year-old made his return to the team last summer.

Juventus fans are in despair because the player’s return to the club has gone even worse than how things went in his final seasons at Old Trafford, while United fans celebrated at getting rid of a player who, despite his talent, was unreliable.

That is due to the fact that he has not played a minute for the Bianconeri due to a knee injury – only making his return to the bench as an unused substitute, during the club’s shock 2-0 defeat by Monza at the weekend

Pogba’s contract might therefore be canceled at the end of the current campaign; additionally, there is a chance that he could be transferred to a league with lower standards, such as the MLS in the United States.

Due to the failure of the signing and the player’s destruction of the unity within the team’s locker room, there is a diplomatic rift between Juventus and Pogba that will be challenging to mend.

With 27 missed games for Juventus, it’s as if Pogba has never been to Italy, and his frequent social media posts have angered the team’s supporters.

Supporters are weary of having to wait for a player whose return to full fitness appears to be a long way off because it has felt like he is doing the work of an influencer.

His greatest mistake, however, is that, as a result of how he handled his knee injury, he only considered himself, disregarding Juventus and the necessity for the team to replace Paulo Dybala with a player of his skill.

At first, Pogba resisted having knee surgery because he believed it would reduce his prospects of representing France at the World Cup.

The midfielder eventually underwent surgery, missing the tournament in Qatar and betraying the confidence the team and fans had in him.

The club, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, is fed up with waiting and blames all of Pogba’s physical issues on the summer’s error over his meniscus issue.

Juventus is upset with Pogba because they spent more than £31 million to bring him back to the team, and he signed a contract worth more than £7 million per season plus bonuses over a four-year period.

Cutting his contract cannot be excluded but would be an option the club has to consider very carefully.

Allowing Pogba to depart would give Juventus the opportunity to sign a top player like Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic or buy two players whose salaries were half of Pogba’s.

Juventus paid Pogba almost £2.9 million on the balance sheet as of December 31 despite his lack of activity.

After he also missed a significant amount of action at Manchester United in recent seasons, concerns have been raised about the signing.

Over the course of his six seasons at Old Trafford, Pogba missed 100 games due to injuries.

His last game as a starter dates back to April 2022, when Manchester United played Norwich as his contract at Old Trafford was winding down.

The 2018 World Cup winner, was a massive fan favourite during his first spell at the club, helping them win four Serie A titles as well as reaching the Champions League final in 2015.

However, Pogba has not been able to help the team during this challenging season.

Juventus was penalized 15 points last month by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) for “financial irregularities” and “false accounting” in connection with prior transfer transactions.

As a result, the team is now ranked thirteenth in Serie A, and Pogba appears unlikely to be much of an asset in the remaining weeks of the season.

Pogba stopped working out after Juventus’ summer tour of the United States and started his physical ordeal, which is likely to make this season the worst of his career.
