Just In: Argentina Wins 2022 FIFA World Cup

Argentina has won the World Cup for the first time since 1986, Lionel Messi will finally have his hands on it, as a retirement benefit.

In what was probably the greatest World Cup final of all time, the South Americans defeated France on penalties. Argentina led 2-0 and appeared to be cruising until Kylian Mbappe’s quick-fire double forced the game into extra time.

Messi restored Argentina’s lead in extra time before Mbappe completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot to send the game to penalties. Les Blues missed two of their first three kicks, giving Argentina the advantage, and Gonzalo Montiel scored the game-winning goal.
