Following their FA Cup loss to Manchester United, Jurgen Klopp expressed his concerns on the condition of three players for Liverpool.

Klopp revealed that Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo all left the field with complaints after the Reds were beaten 4-3 in extra time in the quarter-final clash at Old Trafford. With the trio set to travel for international duty, the manager is worried about their fitness.

Klopp said to BBC Sport: “Now, the boys go on international duty. We hope they come back healthy. Lucho [Diaz] felt his groin, Darwin hamstring, Cody twisted his ankle. They play again in four or five days, it’s crazy. Hopefully we will finish the season in style.

He added: “The boys gave everything. Our decision making was not great. You have to accept the result. They deserve to go to the next round.”

Going into the season’s finale, Klopp already has a number of injury concerns. The Anfield team has been missing Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, Alisson Becker, Ibrahima Konate, and Joel Matip, to mention a few on a lengthy list of absences in recent weeks. In the midst of a fierce competition for the Premier League championship, adding the three attacking players will only make their issues worse.

It is Klopp’s desire that his players recover well from the international break. With Liverpool and Arsenal tied for first place in the Premier League, the German manager cannot afford to lose any of his star players before the final ten games of the season.
