Jurgen Klopp Reveals Liverpool Coach Who Discovered Fast-rising Star Bradley 

Following Conor Bradley’s impressive performance against Chelsea, Jurgen Klopp showered him with praise and identified the Liverpool employee who first discovered him.

In Liverpool’s thrilling 4-1 victory against Chelsea on Wednesday night, the Reds academy alumnus scored his first goal. A boisterous audience gave the 20-year-old a standing ovation after he was substituted out in the second half. He was in the middle of things, having also set up Diogo Jota and Dominik Szoboszlai.

When asked if he was aware of Bradley’s potential, Klopp said as follows during his news conference following the game: “What a great night, what an atmosphere, what a football game, it was a screamer. Yeah, I know it for a while because in the left ear is Pep Lijnders and in the right ear is Vitor Matos. I remember Pep sat in my office and said, ‘I’d put both hands in fire for him!’ I loved him from the first day, I didn’t need a lot of convincing. The thing is, Conor showed up extremely good in pre-season, did extremely well at Bolton [on loan]. Comes back, looks top in pre-season, wow, and then is out for five months [or] four months, [with] like these kind of issues that only young people have, but thank God then time can sort it. At our age it would not get better but in that age group it gets better.

“He is incredible. The fans were already singing his name. He is flying and rightly so. He is working hard and he is a great footballer. People said in the summer we needed another right-back but we were very positive about Conor.”

In recent weeks, Bradley has been a revelation for Klopp at Anfield, enjoying the life of his dreams. He had previously shown promise in the FA Cup, winning 5-2 over Norwich, when he not only recorded two assists but also set up another on January 21 against Bournemouth in the league.

Trent Alexander-Arnold may see more midfield action under Klopp as a result of Bradley’s outstanding play at right back. But this Sunday, in a thrilling Premier League matchup against fellow title hopefuls Arsenal, the full-back will be put to the ultimate test when he travels to the Emirates.
