Ipaja-Ayobo, One Neigbourhood With A Myriad Of Challenges

Ayobo-Ipaja is one of the suburban towns in Lagos State that suffers from a myriad of challenges.  

Ayobo-Ipaja faces challenges that manifest in a huge population of residents, as a result of migration or relocation.

Because there is no proper planning, and given the heavy population density, there is high shortage of amenities for the huge population residing at Ayobo-Ipaja.

Transportation, healthcare facilities, decent and cheap accommodations, schools, etc are all affected.

In the area of transportation, we have fewer vehicles available for a large number of people in Ayobo-Ipaja, yet, this number keeps increasing on a daily basis.

No matter how early you think you have left your house, you will always meet people outside (and you keep wondering, ‘do they sleep at all?’).

Due to the large population living in Ayobo-Ipaja axis, government-owned healthcare facilities are grossly inadequate and privately owned are not cheap for the common man.

The myriad of problems also affects the availability of decent and cheap accommodation because house owners arbitrarily increase their house rents, ending up giving it out to the highest bidder.

This situation prevents the majority from having access to decent and affordable accommodation.

The myriad of problems in Ayobo-Ipaja includes high rent. This affects the few government-owned schools, encouraging overcrowded classes since most dwellers cannot afford private schools for their children.

I know there are many more but I know that these ones are among the myriad of problems that people living in Ayobo-Ipaja face.

This is just a scratch on the surface of the challenges caused by the myriad in Ipaja-Ayobo axis.
