INEC Gives Date For Distribution Of PVCs, Display Of Voters Register

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has given date when it would distribute categories of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and also display voter’s register.

The INEC office in Edo, said the preliminary voters register of all those who have registered would be on display beginning from Saturday.

These were made known by Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Obo Efanga today in Benin.

The Resident Electoral Commission expressed the shock that people still have their PVCs of 2010 and 2011 uncollected.

“Beginning from Saturday when we are going to have display of preliminary voter register, at that ward level the cards are going to be available there and people can pick them from there.

“Because sometimes people say the distance to local government may be far from the ward, we have brought them to the ward for them to collect.

“It is the comprehensive voter list of each polling unit that will be on display at the ward level, so any body who is eligible to vote in the next election, the name would be there.

“People are encourage to go and check and if their names are not there they should file objection or bring it to our attention, we would correct them,” he said.

“I would give the right information to the press rather than wait for other people to give out information on our behalf and mislead the public.

“And we will now struggle to explain, so if you need information at any time, feel free to get across to me and I will provide the information,’ he also said.
