Hurricane Helene: What US Neigburhoods, Businesses Lost

Americans are counting their losses after Hurricane Helene swept through a number of states and neigbourhoods, killing 64, flooding roads and upturning homes.

A lot of pictures are trending online, supporting or independently telling the different perspectives of the devastating storm.

For example, 3.1 million are in darkness in areas like South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida and Ohio, according to the authorities. Many more such memories are certain to linger for some time in affected neigbourhoods.

Buildings were left in tatters of different ranges in Florida by Hurricane Helen, and in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

Other areas where hurricane Helene left sour memories were in Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Illinois and Kentucky.

The Eagle reports that though there had been several hurricane incidents in the United States, Hurricane Katrina remains the most devastating in recent years.

The phenomenon rated as category 3, occurred in 2005 and accounted for more than 1,800 lives, primarily from Louisiana and Mississippi, and leaving an estimated $170 billion in damages.

Hurricane Helene is however, a category 4 hurricane came with a catastrophic 140 mile per hour winds and torrential rain.
