Life is not a short distance race, and it makes sense to have a long term perspective to be able to achieve anything worthwhile.
This is why those who know have already left behind, the failures and setbacks of 2019 and are back in the drawing board for tomorrow.
In fact, for them, year 2020 has already begun, and you could find them earnest implementing their annual programmes to ensure a grand success at time call.
Pastors tend to lead in this wise; they run a rolling calendar in which an outgoing year tends to overlap into a new one seamlessly.
If you are a flock you could flow in, nonetheless, you, as an individual, should have a clear mindset, an agenda how your year should run.
In fact, this point was stressed in the course of a friend-diplomat earlier today.
So, as we at The Eagle wish you a grand success in 2020, we provide here, a check-list as guide
- Think through
Prayerfully, or meditatively, you need to first brood on the journey of life thus far. Adopt a new direction for your life, articulating tasks and assignments to help you overcome the errors of the past, and getting set for fresh challenges. Be clear in your thoughts which and which has to be tackled first and why. Everything may look like a long sketch, no problem.
By the time you are done brooding, it would be clear which to run with as priority for the year, and which could join the waiting list.
- Write the vision down and make it clear
With the benefit of hindsight, write down what your new vision for the year should be. IT may be mid-term but it should add up to helping you realise your total life goals.
Those who know the scripture by heart would quickly remember Habakkuk at 2:2, where we are told to write our visions down and make it clear, so that sighting it, we would run and not relent. Break them into achievable details or bits
- Provide mechanisms for progress Tracking
If you want to achieve on your goals, then there must be a way of measuring your actions and activities, the absence of this might mean you running round in circles. Last year’s maximum accomplishment may be a good starting point, so long you desire to improve on previous records.
iv Surround yourself with the right kind of people
As much as there vision helpers in life, there are equally vision-killers. The latter would always see the impossibility in an assignment and a task. Even without a trial, they are conclusive how and why an idea would not fly. Flee from such people. The scripture says that nothing could be impossible for anyone that believes. Even daily real-life situations have shown so. Bottom life, mingle with those with possibility mindsets.
join the innovation train.
There is new knowledge emerging almost every moment of life. You need to join the train so that you can acquaint yourself with what is needed to excel. In fact, almost everyone is an expert in something, but your success is not driven by just one thing. How about the other things? You get them by humbling yourself and learning from those who are experts therein. It may not be a function of how many degrees you have or how many years you have put in. innovation may not necessarily be lateral in flow; it could be horizontal!
- . Dream greatness, seek it
It is not a sin to dream big, despite being very advisable to start modestly. the deposits in the inside of the average man is such that is bigger than small, so why limit your potential. And that is where goal setting is important. The goal will keep you on focus, that though you could be small now, you are well aware, that you are trailing a pathway leading to big.
Vii. Don’t be afraid to change course
No matter how much time you invest in each stage of the journey to success, errors and mistakes are inevitable because of human frailties. You must have this at the back f your mind, and once you notice that you have erred, there is no crime in taking a reverse. It is not the defeatist kind of reverse, but a change of gear that guarantees a better outcome. You are on a journey to success, and if this would come from retracting a wrong step first, why not.
We are waiting for you at the top!
