How To Activate 5G Internet Service on Android & Apple (iPhone)
By Tolulope Oke
Leading telecommunications company MTN commenced operations with its 5G internet across the country, yesterday with Android and iPhone users in search of how to activate the service.
Findings revealed it came eight months after MTN won the 3.5GHz spectrum license alongside Mafab Communications for the rollout of the 5G network.
The Eagle further reported that the MTN 5G service launched its operations at one hundred and ninety sites across the country but mainly in Lagos and Abuja, and it is anticipated to be operational at 500–600 locations nationwide by the end of October.
Due to the fact that not all devices can access 5G networks, MTN has urged telecom customers to start pre-ordering their 5G devices to take advantage of the fast internet download speeds and low latency associated with 5G.

The modifications and software updates needed for these handsets to use the 5G service in Nigeria have been achieved by a few and only a small number of them were able to access the service.
To activate the services on your mobile devices, The Eagle carefully observed that users of Apple (iPhone) or Samsung phones will probably have to wait a little while for the update to arrive from the phone makers. Samsung users might have to wait for four to six weeks, while iPhone users might have to wait till October.
Meanwhile, Chinese smartphone makers Huawei and Xiaomi have provided the devices with software and modifications that are capable of receiving 5G signals, so if you are using any of the Android gadgets, your phone can automatically conform to the signals.
