How Ogun Police Nabbed Four Kidnap Suspects
Ogun state Police Command agents have detained four members of a renowned kidnapping ring terrorizing Abeokuta and its surroundings.
The information was made in a statement released and made accessible to newsmen in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, by the police public relations officer for the Ogun State command.
Ismaila Ibrahim, age 21, Musa Muhammad, age 26, Irekura Abu, age 43, and Okanlawon Muhammad, age 26, are the suspects, claims Oyeyemi.
According to Oyeyemi, they were detained as a result of several kidnapping incidents in the Abeokuta neighborhoods of Soyooye and Ibara Orile.
“Having received reports of kidnap cases in the aforementioned area, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, directed the Anti kidnapping team to move into the area and fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act”.
“In compliance with the CP’s directive, the SP Taiwo Opadiran led team embarked on technical and intelligence based investigation, which led them to one of the suspects Irukura Abu , who was later discovered to be the supplier of guns to the hoodlums”.

“His arrest led to the arrest of Musa Muhammed, while he was coming out from their hideout to buy food for their victims and members of the gang”.
“The duo, after thorough investigation confessed to be members of a kidnap gang who are responsible for the abduction of one Bishop Oladimeji Joshua of Prayer City, Keesan, Abeokuta, on the 22nd of September 2022”.
“They also informed the police that they were responsible for the kidnap of one Kafayat Jelili of Ogo Titun area of Ibara Orile on the 27th of September 2022”.
“Their confession led to the arrest of the remaining two, Ismaila Ibrahim and Okanlawon Muhammed,” he added.
Two double-barreled and one single-barreled long gun were among the items retrieved from them.
The suspects will be brought before the court as soon as the inquiry is over, according to Lanre Bankole, the state commissioner of police, who praised the anti-kidnapping squad for the breakthrough.
He also oversaw a big manhunt to find other gang members who are currently at large and bring them to justice.

The security situation of our Country is very precarious now.But we commend our Security Officers who are rising to the occasion now. All criminals in Abeokuta and environs must be fished out of their hideouts. Enough of the pains they have caused the society. May God bless the Ogun State command.Amen
