How Ogun Police Nab Two Women Operating Baby Factory

Two ladies were detained by members of the Ogun State Police Command for reportedly running a baby factory in Agbado, in the state’s Ifo Local Government Area.

The suspects, Christiana Iyama and Margaret Ogwu, were detained on August 27, 2022, as a result of information received by police, according to the state police public relations officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the development in a statement on Monday.

The DPO Agbado Division, SP Awoniyi Adekunle, mobilized his detectives to the area where the aforementioned Christiana Iyama and Margaret Ogwu were arrested, according to Oyeyemi.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that Margaret Ogwu was one of the girls harboured by Christiana Iyama who employed the service of a man to impregnate her and collected the child on delivery which she sold at the rate of N400,000 to one of her customers.

“She also confessed to the police that she has sold up to three children from different women to her different customers.”

Oyeyemi, however, said the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
