Accounts of how a Nigerian student was brutally murdered by a group of Chinese people is currently making the media rounds.

The Eagle checks show that the student identified simply as Ikem met his untimely brutal death in the hands of a group of Chinese individuals in the Republic of the Philippines.

The disturbing news came to light when Ikem’s close friend, Michael Ojuola, shared it via his social media account on Sunday.

Ojuola’s social media post, revealing details of the gruesome incident, stated, “A friend of mine, a Nigerian medical student named Ikem, studying in the Republic of the Philippines, was brutally murdered by a group of Chinese.

“They tied his hands up, covered and tied his mouth, and he was beaten blue-black until he gave up the ghost.”

The news of this heinous act has sparked outrage and demands for justice. Ojuola expressed his deep concern, emphasising that such a barbaric act should not be allowed to go unpunished, regardless of the diplomatic relationship between the Philippines and China.

Ojuola also shared horrifying videos of the aftermath of the incident, accompanying them with the caption, “RIP Ikem! No one deserves to go through this. No arrest has been made yet, as I write. This young man was brutally murdered.”

Authorities in the Philippines are expected to launch a thorough investigation into this tragic event, and international attention is focused on ensuring justice for Ikem.

There were indications that the Nigerian and Chinese governments, along with the international community, are closely monitoring the situation and calling for a swift resolution to this disturbing case.
