News has broken on a man who poured fuel in the room where five of his step-children were sleeping and set it ablaze.

The reason was misunderstanding with his wife, report has indicated.

It was on Saturday night that Joseph Ojo, due to misunderstanding with his wife, decided to react in a way many are wont to describe as callous and wicked.

However, an 18- month-old twin born to him by the mother of the children who were also in the room escaped with minor injuries.

One of the children was burnt to death on the day of incident while others were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo.

The Eagle reports that this incident is coming barely two months after one Elisha Tari allegedly killed his five-year-old and three-year-old children in Himikidu, Michika LGA of the state of Adamawa.

Suleiman Nguroje, spokesman of the command of the Police Command in the state, said the suspect used stones and sticks to kill his children.

It was the godfather of the children who reported the incident to the divisional police headquarters in Michika.

The police spokesman said the suspect was arrested while trying to escape to Cameroon.

“The Adamawa State Police Command on the 18/08/2022 apprehended a 25 years old man who allegedly murdered two of his children with age bracket 3 years and 5 years respectively in Himikidu community, Michika Local Government Area,” the statement reads.

“The suspect, Elisha Tari and resident of Himikidu, Michika Local Government Area, was said to have killed the victims with stones and sticks which he had used in hitting them on their heads severally.
