The United States presidential race 2024 has recorded a major shocker with incumbent President Joe Biden chickening out of the race.

This has forced his party, Democratic Party, into a last minute desperate bid to pick a new runner for the most exalted political office in the world.

He was to write and post a letter on his social media yesterday saying:

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President.

Apparently going ahead of critics, Joe Biden said he believed his decision was the best for his country.

The abrupt Sunday announcement shocked not only Americans, but many outside the US who had been warning up to a match-up between Biden and Donald Trump.

Before now, Biden, appeared to have recorded some slips in public appearances both physically and in his speech, making some to make references to his age, he is 81.

“I convinced myself of two things. I’m the most qualified person to beat him, and I know how to get things done,” Biden had been reported as telling ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos in his first post-debate television interview.

“Look. I mean, if the Lord Almighty came down and said, ‘Joe, get outta the race,’ I’d get outta the race. The Lord Almighty’s not comin’ down,” Biden said at the time.
