Jude Bellingham, who had an amazing debut season in Spain, praised Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti for his ability to bring out the best in the midfield player.

Bellingham, who moved from Borussia Dortmund to Madrid last summer, has been amazing. With a staggering 20 goals in just 34 games this season, he leads the team in scoring across all competitions.

The 20-year-old attributes his quick ascent to fame in the Spanish capital to Italian coach Ancelotti. Bellingham clarified that he is thriving at the Santiago Bernabeu since the renowned manager has given him a different role than the one he had at Dortmund.

“The sign of a good manager is when he makes you believe you are a bit better, gives me the freedom to roam,” the England international said. “He’s a top person, makes me feel comfortable. He’s been amazing in helping me adapt, understand my potential. I’ve played more of a 10. Dortmund I was deeper and Birmingham all over the place, it’s definitely down to him.”

Bellingham, who has not scored in his previous five games for Real Madrid, will be looking to change that on Wednesday when his club plays Manchester City in the second leg of their quarterfinal Champions League match. After the first game, the two teams are even on the aggregate at 3-3.
