How 12 Year Old Jumped To Death Trying To Escape Father’s Beating

The father of a twelve year old boy who was determined in punishing the boy for an offence, must now be biting his fingers in regret.

The boy had jumped to his death from a second floor, at 5 am on Sunday, the aftermath of repetitive abuse from the father, throwing the neigbourhood into shock waves.

The incident happened in Ayekoo-Ayekoo, a suburb of Cape Coast in the Central region of Ghana, with the victim identified Kabiru Alabi.

The Eagle gathered the boy sustained critical injuries in the head during the fall, and was rushed to a hospital by a neigbours but died later.

An eye witness, reports the Daily Graphic reportedly saying:

“I even shouted to ask if they want to kill him,”

According to the report, angry members of the community has mobilised against the man and his wife, the boy’s stepmother but for the intervention of the police.

There were assertions that the boy had frequently suffered beatings at the hand of his father, identified as Luckman Alabi and late boy’s stepmother identified as Kobiaba Wriketts at their residence which is the second floor of Block B at the Ayekoo-Ayekoo flats.

The central regional Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Irene Oppong confirmed the incident adding that the couple have been charged with murder
