Hope At Last For Victims Of All Forced Evictions In Lagos

There appears to be hope at last for victims of all forced evictions in Lagos and whose lands have now been converted to personal use by some influential individuals.

But for this to happen, Lagosians themselves have to do something.

They have to be ready to vote out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s election, under which watch such evictions had taken place.

They should instead install the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), its Governorship Candidate, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran popularly known as Jandor, has said.

Adediran who asserted that a PDP-led government in the state would review all forced evictions, said he would instead protect the people of Lagos against exploiters

“I would take the land back and give them back to the people when I become governor. It is either, we want to continue with them or we want things to change.

“If elected, I would take back those lands. I would build general hospitals and other infrastructures you need.

Asserting hope at Last for victims, he added: “I have said that all the land that have been collected illegally, in the name of personal use in the state, would be collected back and give to owners.

Jandor said a PDP administration in Lagos would govern with the fear of God, and its policies would be people friendly.

“We should deliver our state for PDP. The victory of PDP in this election is for all of us and our collective good. That is why we must put in every efforts to make sure our party wins.

“God has seen your suffering and contribution over the years. 2023 is where he wants to compensate you,” the candidate said.

While promising equity, he also promised to ensure a programme of empowerment of the people was also put in place. This he said would be with the aim of tackling poverty.

“We would serve Lagos with fear of God. The only reason, why I am in Lagos governorship race is because of people’s welfare,” he said.
