History For Egyptian King! Mohamed Salah Breaks Record In Sparta Mauling

Mohamed Salah on Thursday added to Liverpool’s history by scoring during their blistering start of their Europa League match against Sparta Prague.

Salah gave his team the lead just ten minutes into the match, and they easily defeated the Czech visitors in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 match. With this strike, the Egypt international has scored 20 goals in all competitions this season, becoming the first player in Reds history to do it in seven straight seasons.

The forward also grabbed two assists in the early stages of the clash at Anfield, setting up Bobby Clark and Cody Gakpo as Jurgen Klopp’s team strolled to a 4-0 lead inside the first 15 minutes of the clash, giving them a 9-1 aggregate lead.

With 15 goals to keep Liverpool in the running for the title, Salah is still in the running to be the Premier League’s top scorer. He is now three goals behind Erling Haaland, the highest scorer, while Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa has sixteen.

Following their crushing of Sparta Prague on Thursday, Salah and his Liverpool teammates will focus on this weekend’s marquee match. On Sunday, they play Manchester United at Old Trafford in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
