HENSARD University Celebrates Senator Dickson At 59, Credits Him with Institutional Success

Hensard University, a private institution in in Toru-Orua, Sagbama, Bayelsa State, has joined other well-wishers to celebrate its Chancellor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson who has just turned 59.

Senator Dickson, Governor of Bayelsa State from 2012 to 2020, now represents Bayelsa West at the Senate.

A statement released by the Media/Publicity Office of the institution, said the entire university community, including management, staff, and students, praise the Senator’s leadership and vision, for much of the university’s recent success to his direction.

They note that his distinguished career as a lawyer and politician preceded his appointment as Chancellor, from which he has actively guided the growth and development of Hensard University, according to a statement by Professor Dileep Kumar M, Vice-Chancellor of Hensard.

He emphasised the Senator’s long-term vision for transforming education not only in Bayelsa State, but throughout Nigeria, adding: “The remarkable growth and expansion of Hensard University demonstrates Senator Dickson’s commitment to educational excellence.

Professor Kumar emphasised the university’s readiness to provide high-quality education through its expanded academic programmes, reassuring current and prospective students of the institution’s unwavering commitment to providing a world-class learning environment under Senator Dickson’s visionary leadership.

According to the release, the commendation from the entire Hensard University community demonstrates Senator Dickson’s significant impact on the institution’s standing in the Bayelsa State educational landscape.

It said Senator Dickson exemplified the transformative power of strong leadership and a commitment to academic excellence, which also reflect the university’s progress thus far, the release added.

Hensard University licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2023 and promoted by the Henry Seriake Dickson Foundation (HSDF is located in Toru-Orua, in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The first private university in Bayelsa State, it promises to bridge the gaps between academic certifications, skills development, and the practical industrial application of knowledge for the development of society.
