Heavy Blow As Man United Defender Suffers ACL Tears

Gabby George, Man United defender is out indefinitely after tearing his ACL against Leicester City.

The Women’s Super League match between Manchester United and Leicester City over the weekend ended in a 1-1 tie after the 26-year-old English international was pulled off the pitch barely nine minutes in. According to The Athletic, the athlete who was signed over the summer sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury. George will now have surgery and is anticipated to miss a lot of time.

George, who just recently joined the team from Everton this summer, follows midfielder Emma Watson as the second Man United player to suffer an ACL injury this year. She has played four times for United so far this season, but she will now be out for an extended period of time.

The next game for Marc Skinner’s team will be the second leg of their Champions League second-round matchup against Paris Saint-Germain. After the first leg, the draw is delicately poised at 1-1.
