Guardiola Provides Haaland Injury Update

Erling Haaland’s injury was updated by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, although he did not indicate if he will play against Crystal Palace.

The prolific goal scorer did not travel with the City squad for their Premier League clash against Luton Town during the weekend as he suffered a bone injury. The manager has now provided a fresh injury and revealed when the striker would be back for training.

Speaking to reporters, the Catalan manager said: “He will be back on Thursday, day after tomorrow, and we see how he feels. I cannot answer [if he can play on Saturday], I don’t know right now. The next press conference I can be more precise about his condition.”

Following the team’s Premier League match against Aston Villa last week, the Norwegian, according to Guardiola, could hardly walk. However, since then, the striker’s health has rapidly improved. Last Saturday, the defending champions overcame a 2-1 deficit to defeat Luton, even though Haaland was not on the squad.

The 23-year-old, who now leads the Premier League Golden Boot race with 14 goals, will resume training on Thursday, according to his coach. However, it is unclear if he will be totally fit for the team’s league match against Roy Hodgson’s Palace in time.
