Govt Security Agencies surround Palace of Senior Chief

There are reports that government security agencies have surrounded the palace of a senior chief, and that royal family members have fled for fear of their lives.
It a royal establishment spokesperson has expressed concern over the safety of the royal family, who went fleeing.
Muchinda Kankomba Welala is the Senior Chief of the Lala people in Serenje District, and there are fears about his safety and that of his household as the incident unfolds.
Kambwili Royal Establishment Chairperson Paul Bupe, accompanied by Chief Muchinda addressed Journalists in Lusaka, the Zambian capital over the incident.
Mr. Bupe explains that the incident occurred while the chief was in Lusaka, attending a meeting with the Central Province Joint Operation Committee –PJOC- at the Provincial Office in Kabwe.

He says one of the allegations raised during the PJOC meeting included accusations of the chief grabbing livestock from people from Southern Province who had settled in his chiefdom, claims which both the chief and the purported victims deny, the Zambian Observer has reported.
Another allegation against the senior chief, according to Mr. Bupe, is that chief erected barriers to levy motorists illegally.
