Gov Primary: APC Disqualifies Shittu, Clears Ambode, Sanwo-Olu, Others

The sun may have truly set on the gubernatorial ambition of the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu.

This is because the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress has truly disqualified him from contesting Saturday’s Oyo State APC governorship primary.

The party however cleared Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode and his two challengers Obafemi Hamzat and Jide Sanwo-Olu.

The minister could not be reached on phone for his reaction on the latest development, the report of his disqualification was contained contained in a report of the screening committee, released in Abuja on Thursday night.

The list which had a state by state breakdown of those cleared also listed Otumba Alao Akala as one of those cleared to contest the primary in Oyo State.

Prof. Pat Utomi and Cairo Ojugbo were among those cleared for the contest in Delta State. Senator Magnus Abe was also cleared to contest in Rivers State.
