Gov. Ambode has surpassed his predecessors… Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja
The traditional Prime Minister of Noforija Kingdom in the Epe Local Government area of Lagos State, His Royal majesty, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, has taken an overview of the current administration of Governor Akinwunmi, submitting that he had, not only done commendably, but surpassed his predecessors.
Oba Ogunlaja, who is a Jerusalem Pilgrim (JP) told The Eagle in an exclusive interview in his palace facilitated by Community Network Integration (CNI), that the handwriting of Ambode’s accomplishments thus far in office, was clear for anyone to read.
He noted that even if there’s no need for comparison, it is obvious that his administration has done a lot and words cannot explain them.
“The handwriting of Akinwunmi is physical; everyone can see what he’s doing.
Talking about infrastructure, lighting up, even the public service, and sanitation are part of the areas he had done well”, he said.
His Royal Majesty said that while they were been conclusive with the Babatunde Raji Fashola administration in terms of performcance, not knowing that somebody was coming to surpass it.
According to him, from the perspective of traditional rulership, Ambode equally had a record,helping to increase the population of the Obas in council.
He has also increased the population of Obas council.
“The governor has given the Obas a sense of belonging. He has helped to increase the level of participation of the Obas in the activities of the state”, he said.
Reacting to his intentions for creating the Ambo Lekan Si Grassroot Volunteers, he said it was inspired by the good works the governor was doing, adding that the group had become the most trending in all the 57 local government and LCDA areas in Lagos.
He added that despite creating the platform to show his support for the governor, that membership was however voluntary.
“Governor Ambode is a visionary leader; is concerned about the welfare of the people and he has been able to do it with every element of humility.
“We are also complementing the governors work by encouraging and educating our people on the need to pay their taxes, maintain their roads and making sure the environment is always clean.
“By so doing, people can see the good work of the governor. We have also been calling all the stakeholders and leaders to encourage their followers to get their PVC and vote”, he said.
Also reacting to the subject, the Oloja of Epe Kingdom, Oba Ishola Kamorudeen Animashaun said he is in total support of Ambode’s second term as a leader that proved himself deserved another opportunity
He said he and his people would be doing everything within their power to back the governor’s second term bid.
