Olivier Giroud, who plays for AC Milan, is expected to join Lionel Messi in the Major League Soccer after Euro 2024 by joining LAFC.

The Athletic reports that Los Angeles FC is getting closer to signing the seasoned French striker. He is anticipated to join the team on a free transfer following Euro 2024, with his Milan contract expiring on June 1. The U.S. transfer window opens four days after the continental tournament ends on July 14.

The 37-year-old is expected to sign a deal running through the MLS 2025 season. With LAFC having the MLS discovery right on the player, they hold the first right to sign him ahead of any other side in the league and are now ‘finalizing’ a deal.

The former star of Chelsea and Arsenal Giroud is still scoring goals at a high rate despite his advanced age; in 36 games this season across all competitions, he has 14 goals and nine assists for the Rossoneri.
