France Launch Official Complaint Against Argentina Goalie For Humiliating Mbappe In 2022 World Cup Celebration
The French FA has launched an official complaint after World Cup-winning Argentina goalkeeper Emi Martinez taunted beaten France hero Kylian Mbappe.
In the World Cup final, Mbappe grabbed a hat-trick, but it was insufficient as Argentina won the tournament on penalties, claiming their third global title.
After the Albiceleste participated in raucous celebrations in Buenos Aires, Martinez rekindled his bitter feud with Mbappe after the Frenchman was photographed holding a Mbappe doll next to Lionel Messi on the team’s open-top bus parade.

Martinez had previously made fun of the Paris Saint-Germain star in the team’s locker room after Argentina’s victory in the final.
The French Football Federation (FFF), who regarded Martinez’s celebrations “shocking” and “inappropriate,” filed a complaint with the Argentine FA as a result.

FFF president Noel Le Graet said the following in an interview with Ouest-France: “We have launched different procedures. It is very shocking. These are boys who have given the best of themselves for the France team to succeed. It is important that we support them. I wrote to my counterpart from the Argentine Football Association. I find these excesses abnormal in the context of sports competition, and I find it difficult to understand. It goes too far. Mbappe’s behaviour was exemplary.”
Martinez had recently mocked Mbappe for saying that European countries were better prepared for the World Cup because they play “high-level matches all the time,” calling him a “football moron” and accusing him of “knowing nothing about football.”
Lautaro Martinez also argued that what he said was “unfair”, while ex-Brazil coach Tite sniped back at him by saying that Brazil don’t have “Azerbaijan to play”.
