Former BOT Chairman Speaks On G5 Leaving PDP

Senator Walid Jibril, the immediate past board of trustees, BOT, chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has bragged that the G5 governors will not leave the party despite the current conflict.

This is despite his assurances that the party’s ongoing familial crisis would be resolved prior to the 2023 elections.

Given his friendship with the G5 governors and the unity of the party, Walid Jibril asserts that he has every confidence that they would act in the best interests of the party and the nation.

Walid, who revealed this in a media interview with journalists on Wednesday in Marmara, Nasarawa state, denied resigning his post as chairman of the PDP BOT due to the G-5 governors scandal, instead citing a mutual accord.

“They G5 governors  are only testing Nigerians, very soon the governors would reconcile fully because they are prepared to give hope to Nigerians who have been subjected to hardship since the advent of the APC administration.

“Before my  resignation, possible mechanisms have been deployed  and are still being deployed to reconcile the two parties involved. The matter is very easy and simple to be  kept behind us”, Walid declared.

The former BOT Chairman further gave a assurance that the feud between the two parties will end successfully.

According to him, “The G-5 governors are going nowhere and they are with us. We are seeing them and what they are doing. It will also interest you to know that they are only testing Nigerians.

“We are going to reconcile and we are going to solve our problems amicably very soon.”

The G-5 PDP governors are Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abua, and Nyesome Wike of Rivers.
