FIFA To Ask Every Country To Name A Stadium In Honour Of Pele

Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, has stated that his organization will ask all nations to name one of their stadiums after Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pele, a legend of Brazilian football.

A stadium being renamed after “the king of football” is a homage to him, Infantino stated on Monday at Pele’s funeral in Brazil.

On December 29, 2022, Pele passed away, and his nation had three days of national mourning.

Yesterday, a public wake lasting 24 hours began in Brazil at the Santos Urbano Caldeira Stadium.

Pele, a three-time World Cup champion with more than 1,000 goals in his career, is widely regarded as the undisputed greatest of all time (GOAT) in the sport of football.

The FIFA President declared, “We’re going to ask every country in the globe to identify one of their football stadiums with the name of Pele” when speaking about paying tribute to Pele.

Prior to his passing at age 82, Pele fought colon cancer.
