FG Releases List Of Newly Appointed Consuls-General And Their Diplomatic Postings

Here is a list of the newly appointed consuls-general and their diplomatic postings as released by the Federal Government.

First, The Eagle reports that there were 12 consuls-general and five chargés d’affaires whose appointments were approved by President Bola Tinubu to represent Nigeria in 14 countries.

In a statement, by his Special Assistant on Media and Communications Strategy, Alkasim Abdulkadir the minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar charged the newly appointed consuls-general and Chargé D’affaires to be good ambassadors of Nigeria.

The minister said the new appointees were pivotal to the economic drive of President Bola Tinubu.

They are as follows:

1. Saidu Dodo Damascus, Syria);
2. Patrick Imoudu Imologhome (Pyongyang, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea);
3. Francisca Omayuli (Singapore, Singapore);
4. Babagana Ahmadu (Bangui, Central African Republic);
5. Mohammed Mohammed (Tripoli, Libya).

Consuls General and their consulates

1. Auwalu Namadina (Atlanta, USA);
2. Nnamdi Nze (Bata, Equatorial Guinea);
3. Francis Enya (Douala, Cameroon);
4. Gbadebo Afolabi (Shanghai, China);
5. Oludare Folowosele (Hong Kong, China);
6. Abubakar Jidda, (New York, USA);
7. Yakubu Dadu (Frankfurt, Germany);
8. Taofik Coker (Buea, Cameroon);
9. George Onwuekwe (Guangzhou, China);
10. Umar Bashir (Johannesburg, South Africa);
11. Zayyan Ibrahim (Dubai, UAE);
12. Muazam Nayaya (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia)

As seasoned career diplomats, they should steer clear of politicking and recommit themselves to their calling of diplomacy for Nigeria’s collective interest and development, the minister admonished them.

The newly-appointed Consul General for the Consulate in New York, Ambassador Abubakar Jidda, responded on behalf of others.

He spoke of their readiness to uphold professional  ethics while also upholding the interest of the country.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for considering them worthy.
