Fayose Opens Up On PDP Crisis, Reveals Why Things Will Get Messier

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose has said that the ongoing crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will only get messier.

Fayose said he had not spoken publicly on the matter earlier because he hoped things would get better, but now he has realized that if no action is taken urgently.

The former Governor in a statement on Sunday evening via his Twitter handle said the internal crisis rocking the PDP may escalate further except quick action is taken to arrest the situation.

He wrote: “I see more serious turbulence for PDP more than ever before. I have been silent all this while hoping that things will get better. I advise we do more than we are doing now to resolve this crisis as events in days/weeks ahead may likely get messier. I pray this advice is not ignored.”

Meanwhile, Fayose, on 20th September, said despite his support for the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, that he will vote for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubarkar.

He also said he will not defect to the All Progressives Congress, APC, despite misgivings about the current state of affairs within the PDP.

The former governor was addressing key members of the party in Ado Ekiti.

He said, “A lot has been said, but like I have said many times, let me state it here expressly again that I will never join APC for whatever reason,” he said.

“In all the issues we are having as a party, no one has said that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is not our presidential candidate. No one has said too that Dr Ifeanyi Okowa is not our party’s vice presidential candidate.
