Excitement as Torotoro CDA Ibafo, Commissions Self-Help Road Projects
The Torotoro Community in the Ibafo area of Ogun State had something to cheer about last Saturday following the commissioning of road project executed through self-help.
The reconstruction of the road was collective effort and residents were full of thanks for the initiative, which they said would alleviate their commuting experiences despite lifting the outlook of the area.
The Executive Chairman of the community, Mr Ibitoye Marcus, told The Eagle Correspondent in the course of the commissioning that it was a thing of joy that the long-term project had become a reality. He thanked the Almighty God for making it a reality and also extended thanks to other members of the executive for their support and commitment in seeing the project completed.
He also used the opportunity to appeal to the governor of the state, Mr Dapo Abiodun to support the Torotoro Unity 2 CDA financially in view of the projects on its hands.
A community elder, Alhaji, Amuda Rasheed Ayobami a.k.a Amras, came in company with the first chairman of the community Elders Daodu Oyeleke and Alhaji Ologuntere.
Alhaji Abayomi, who is a past member of the exco, in his speech commended the task force put in place by the Torotoro community to midwife the project adding that it was their sacrifices that made it a reality.
This he said, had gone a long way in helping the CDA and in lifting the community.
He added: “this is a welcome development and I pray that the chairman of this present administration and his other executives members would not be found missing when the time to reap the good work of their hands comes” .
