D’Tigress, Nigeria Basketball Team In Spectacular Performance Against US

Nigeria’s D’Tigress basketball team at the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics Games has suffered a 74-88 quarter-final defeat to the U.S. women’s basketball team.

Though the team lost, but it fought gallantly, especially against one of the most formidable sides of the game.

The Nigeria team was outstanding in the 4th quarter of the encounter, outscoring the US by (26-12), in a meeting that recorded many highlights:

For example, two-time WNBA Most Valuable Player A’Ja Wilson was on song, scoring 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Also, Jackie Young added 15 points and Breanna Stewart — another two-time WNBA MVP 13, and with her feat, the US team has set the stage for an expected pulsating semi-final against Australia.

Australians won silver in 2000, 2004 and 2008, and for for the D’Tigress, it is not leaving with heads  bowed: it has become the the first African team to ever reach the Olympics quarterfinals in basketball.

On other results, France beat Germany 84-71 and would square up with European champions Belgium, with a 79-66 win Spain.
