Drug Trafficking: Seraphic Assembly In Turmoil As NDLEA Arrests Founder

Seraphic and Sabbath Assembly, Lagos is in Turmoil following the arrest of its founder, High Priest Nnodu Azuka Kenrick over drug trafficking

The arrest was effected by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over the weekend.

The Eagle findings show that the No 1, Sabbath Close, Ijesha Lagos location of the church has become a sensitive zone, with some members in disarray.

One Oyoyo Mary Obasi arrested at the Lagos airport in connection with illegal drugs alongside a theology student, Udezuka Udoka, , in her statement,  indicted the General Overseer Nnodu and his son, Chisom Obi.

The two are crediting the 283 parcels of skunk weighing 14.90 kilograms and 204 grams of methamphetamine concealed in four 25-litre kegs of palm oil for export to Dubai, when they were nabbed to the clergyman

According to Mary, she was compelled by the founder of the church and his son, to take the job of couriering the drugs.

She said this followed their understanding that she had known their illicit activities and code names for drugs.

The high priest, she further said, was always referring to the illicit drugs as Ice and Bible, (Street names for Methamphetamine and Cannabis) in their telephone text message chats.

The theology student, Udezuka was introduced to Mary to assist her because she was new in the illicit business, reports show, for which he said he was paid N2million.

He said he accepted the money because he needed it for his education.

It was arrest spree for the NDLEA as a returnee from the United Arab Emirate (UAE) also fell into its net.

The returnee, Nnamani Monday Innocent had attempted sending a consignment of skunk 225mg of tramadol to the UAE before he was arrested at the Trade Fair complex in Ojo Lagos.

He was nabbed in the premises of a cargo company where he had gone in company of his friend Nwanana Emmanuel Ikechukwu, trying to freight the consignment.
