What is the black market Dollar to Naira exchange rate today 5th January, 2024?
Operators of the parallel market also known as the black market in Lagos and Ogun have pegged the Dollar to Naira rate at N1240/$ today, 5th January, 2024.
The local currency slipped by N5 against its counterpart, as yesterday’s trade concluded at N1235/$.
In the same vein, the local currency slipped by N5 at the Peer2Peer (P2P) trading segment with today’s morning session commencing at N1238/$ in contrast to N1233/$ it traded yesterday.

Meanwhile, the naira appreciated to N895.23 per dollar in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM), thus widening the gap between the official and parallel market exchange rates to N344.77 per dollar yesterday from N199.88 per dollar on Wednesday.
Data from FMDQ showed that the indicative exchange rate for NAFEM fell to N895.23 per dollar from N1,035.12 per dollar on Wednesday, indicating N139.77 appreciation for the naira.
