Do you know why music star, Tiwa Savage was honoured with a special recognition award in London?
It is in recognition of her successful music career. The music star got the award at the Women4Women awards in London.
Though absent at the award night Savage commended the organisers of the award in a thank you speech rendered through a video.
In her speech, Savage dedicated the award to women who are pulling their weights in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
Savage bagged the award alongside other female professionals from different walks of life.
The award was the eighth in the series and had in attendance the likes of actress Yvonne Jegede, Dr Shola Mos Shogbamimu, Honey Ajuwon and Lara Oyesanya, others who graced the event included Dr Gillian Lakaereber, Adeola Onasanya, Feyisola Adeyemi and Juliana Olayinka of Channels, Professor Carol Makaka and Theresa Owusu Partner.
The Nation reports that founders of Women4Africa, Sam and Tola Onigbanjo, told newsmen that it is important for Africans and women to celebrate and write their own narrative for the world to see.
Over 18 women ranging from arts, technology and healthcare sectors were awarded and celebrated for their relentless efforts to continually keep African flags flying.

Some previous recipients of Women4Africa include; Mrs Aisha Buhari, Mrs Oluwatoyin Sanni, Ambassador Nimi Akinkugbe, Dr Joe Okei Odumakin, Senator Daisy Danjuma, Honorable Abike Dabiri-Erewa, among others.
