Digital Literacy: MTN Commits Tablets To Smart Schools

Digital literacy is steadily getting the priority it deserves in a number of institutions in the country, including a recent initiative of telecommunications giant, MTM Nigeria Limited.

The company is partnering is currently providing tablets to students in 11 smart schools across Anambra State, aimed at boosting digital literacy there.

A statement by Senior Special Adviser on New Media to the state governor, Chukwuma Soludo;  Mazi Ejimofor Opara, said the telecom giant donated 50 tablets to each of the schools across the state for their libraries, bringing the total to 550 tablets.

Opara said the partnership is part of the ‘Smart Learn’ Anambra programme, which aims to equip the youths with the necessary tools to succeed in a digital world.

“The donation was officially handed over by the state Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Chiamaka Nnake, alongside Prof. Nkechi Perpetua Ikediugwu, Chairman of the Post Primary School Service Commission and top executives of MTN Nigeria.

“This initiative is part of the ‘Smart Learn’ Anambra programme, which aims to equip the youth with the necessary tools to succeed in a digital world.
