Deadline Day: Jurgen Klopp Responds To Salah Transfer Rumour Amid Saudi Arabia Interest 

The persistent rumours that Mohamed Salah would quit Liverpool for Saudi Arabia have been dismissed by Jurgen Klopp.

There has been talk of the Egypt international becoming a top target for Al-Ittihad, as they prepare for FIFA Club World Cup competition later this year. A record-breaking contract offer is said to be on the table, with Salah in line to earn more in the Middle East than Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.

Klopp claims that there is no offer on the table despite rumours that a €150 million (£128 million/$163 million) proposition is being prepared, despite Liverpool’s understandable reluctance to part with a valuable asset. “The position absolutely remains the same,” the Reds manager stated. It is like that. I’m at a loss for words. As far as I’m aware, no offer.

Salah will not be sold as the summer transfer window closes, but there may be new arrivals at Anfield. Ryan Gravenberch, a Dutch midfielder joining from Bayern Munich, is reportedly close to a deal, although Klopp is keeping his cards close to his chest in that regard. 

“We are unable to discuss that because nothing significant has happen to date, he continued. If something happens, we can discuss it on Sunday,” he said.

The Reds, who have won seven points from their first three games, will return to Premier League action this weekend when they host Aston Villa.
