Daredevil Kidnapper Leaps Across Table To Snatch Girl, 4, From Mother

Daredevil kidnapper is the right description for a man whose attempt to snatch a four year old girl from her mother had been foiled.

It took both the determination of the mum and alert diners in the Bella Napoli pizza restaurant, Florida near Johannesburg, South Africa where the incident took place, to stop the obvious kidnapper.

Police have arrested the man after horrific video emerged of the incident, reports the Sun.

Footage taken from a security camera at the Bella Napoli pizza restaurant in shows the child, her mum and another woman sitting on the patio.

The Eagle learnt that the man, who obviously had been monitoring his target, just came into view at the top of the frame, leapt over the railings into the dining area before dashing towards the table.

He succeeded in grabbing the little girl around her head and neck, but faced a challenge from one of the alert women who quickly lunged forward protecting the child.

It was then, a customer at the restaurant, identified as martial artist Dishal Sooku – stepped up and grappled with the man.

The camera showed the man’s relunctance to let go the child but for the combined efforts of the people present.

He was wrestled to the floor by the martial artist and held down until security men arrived.

Witnesses said there was a waiting vehicle which immediately fled when it was obvious the kidnapper had been overpowered.

Many people gathered snapping away.

Providing a background, the report added:: “He was walking along the street banging on cars. Then he just started running up to the girl.

“It didn’t look like he was trying to take her, he was really trying to hurt her. His eyes were dead.”

The report also quoted South African private investigator Wendy Pascoe as claiming that the man had been involved in an assault before the kidnap attempt.

Confirming the incident, the police said the said the daredevil suspect, 24, had been arrested and was due to appear Roodepoort magistrate’s court.

“The complainant was at the Pizza Shop in Florida with her four-year-old child when an unknown male came and grabbed the child by her neck as if he wanted to take her.

“The mother and the child screamed and with the help of the shop owner and the community the suspect was apprehended”, Captain Kay Makhubela said:
