Cyberbullying, Privacy Violation: Tiktok Streamer Peller, Faces N395m Lawsuit

A TikTok streamer Peller, real names, Habeeb Hamzat, has been slammed with a N395 million legal suit over alleged cyberbullying and privacy violation.

The lawsuit was filed by a Lagos-based woman, Osarobo Odigie, following a confrontation at Folixxx Lounge in Lagos which she says amounted to violation of her privacy

A pre-action letter, dated March 10, 2026, and signed by Bola Osineye of FA Garrick & Co., served Peller, accusing him of making defamatory remarks and publishing a video of Odigie online without her consent.

The letter said the incident occurred on January 6, 2026.

“Our client was present at Folixxx Lounge for the purpose of purchasing food.

“While standing at the counter/cashier area, our client was suddenly startled by your loud outburst directly behind her,” the letter stated.

Odigie alleges that the incident caused her the following:

i. reputational damage

ii. emotional distress, and

iii. concerns over her personal safety.

She is seeking N395 million in damages, broken down as follows:

1. N200 million for the defamatory publication,
2. N100 million for emotional trauma and reputational harm,
3. N75 million for distress linked to cyberbullying, and
4. N20 million to cover legal fees

The legal team alleged that Peller confronted Odigie after she stepped aside, demanding to know why she moved away, and verbally abused her with Yoruba insults including Oloriburuku, Omo Ale, and Ashawo.

They claimed that the Tiktok Streamer Peller escalated the situation by recording Odigie on his phone without consent and sharing the video across Snapchat, WhatsApp, TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms.

“The video went viral almost immediately… triggering thousands of comments, many of which reiterated and amplified your defamatory remarks against her,” the letter said.

Additionally, the legal team has demanded that Peller does the following immediately:

1. stop further publication of the video,
2. remove it from all social media accounts,
3. issue a public apology on his platforms and in The Punch and The Guardian Nigeria, and
4. ensure the removal of any reposted content on third-party blogs within seven days.
5. Failure to comply, the lawyers warned, would trigger legal proceedings.
