Youth Movement, Polce Command Hold Youth Seminar On Cultism

The Youthslens Movement of Nigeria in conjunction with the Lagos State Police Command has conducted a one-day seminar on Nigerian youths and cultism.

The seminar which held at the Police Officer’s mess, Ikeja GRA, Lagos attracted undergraduates from different institutions and students from different schools across the country and also notable people in the society.

The Public Relation Officer of Lagos state command, Bala Elkana disclosed that cultism which he said was created to preserve the culture of the Yorubas in 1954 through the likes of Wole Soyinka, had been abused, with a lot of young Nigerian youths using it negatively.

Human Right activist, Darlington Ajitemisan shared his life experience as a former notorious assassin, adding that for him, it started in the prison,

He said there prisoners were usually exposed to negative things, making it difficult to come out of the prison the same way one entered.

He said many acts of cultism outside the prison had already been perpetrated inside.

However, it remains whether the Federal Government can put an end to Cultism in the country as it has destroyed a lot of innocent souls in the society, he said.
