Criminals Impersonate Chief Of Army Staff’s Social Media Accounts

The Nigerian Army has raised the alarm of the impersonation of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) by yet-to-be identified criminals.

They have resorted to creating fake social media accounts, purporting it to be that of the COAS, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu.

Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele made this known in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja.

The statement thus urged the members of the public to be cautious as not to fall prey to the antics of such criminals masquerading as the Chief of Army Staff.

“The Nigerian Army is taking all the necessary steps to apprehend the operators of these fake accounts with a view to bringing them to justice in accordance with the extant laws”, the Nigerian Army said in the statement.
