Concerned Nigerian Issues Harsh Words On “Obidients” On Social Media

A concerned Nigerian has some blunt and harsh words for ardent supporters, popularly known as ‘Obidients’ of the Labour Party, presidential candidate in February’s elections, Peter Obi.

He said Obi’s supporters, popularly known as “obidients”, should do more than just talk and wish.

The fellow who signed out as Sani Saeeid, expressed particular worry that there was nothing on the ground in the majority of the North Western states, especially Zamfara, Kaduna Kano, Jigawa and Katsina showing Labour’s commitment to winning the election just a few weeks away.

He thus wondered where the “Obidients” huge optimism towards the election was coming from.

“For example, in Zamfara, Anka Local Government, Abare, JANGEBE, Dareta, Fashan Kuturu, Mayanchi, and also in Bukkuyum local government”, he asserted, there was no evidence of Labour’s presence, the same in GUMI local government Area’s Daki Takwas.

“Not a single visibility (Read that again), NOT a SINGLE VISIBILITY of the Labour Party. No posters, no sensitisation, no rally, no evangelism, and no presence”.

Elaborating his frustration with Anka, he said there were 7 Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps there, mentioning these to include New Emirs Palace, Fulani 1, Fulani 2, Fulani 3, NRC 1, NRC 2 and NRC 3 but that there was zero presence of the Labour Party in those places

“Will the opposition not be termed right when they say we’re mainly on social media?

“If by this time, we don’t have a single presence of the Labour Party in these areas, how possible is it to get polling unit agents?

“Why is the OBI-dient passion dying away gradually?

“Why are support groups sidelined, neglected and exposed to the warm arms of these ravaging opposition? Where are we now in the campaigns for rural areas?”.

The supporter also wondered why there does not seem to be a concern on the part of the party leadership about his identified lacuna.

The Eagle reports that similar sentiments have been expressed at different times recently thereby underscoring the assertion that Labour Party may not have gotten its act together despite the massive reception that has followed its presidential candidate anywhere he had gone in the recent.

“Why do we delight in inviting PO to town halls and palaces while we fail to tell him the bitter truth that he is not known amongst the grassroots and rural voters?

“Well; elections are not won by mere wishes, neither do prayer points win elections.

“I sincerely plead with the powers and the people concerned, We need mobilisation in the North West;

“We need a presence in the IDPs”, he said.

The supporter, while admonishing that the election must be won, however, added that for that to happen: “We must expedite action: immediately”.
