Following the passing of five family members, the Amutenyi village in Obollo-Afor, Udenu Local Government Area, Enugu State, has been plunged into sadness.
The incident, which happened on Saturday, involved a woman, her two children and two sisters, who visited her, Punch reported.
The victims were named as Mrs. Chinyere Odoh, her two children, Udochukwu Odoh (age 7) and Chukwuemeka Odoh (age 4), as well as her two sisters, Martina Ezeme and Ngozi Ezeme, by the state police public relations officer, Daniel Ndukwe.

Ndukwe noted that preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased persons went to bed the previous night and were not seen in the morning.
“Their lifeless bodies were found in two separate rooms they slept in when police operatives from the Udenu Police Division of the command, who swiftly responded to a distress call to the incident, forced open the doors of the rooms.
“They were immediately moved to a hospital and confirmed dead by doctors on duty, and their corpses deposited in a mortuary for preservation and autopsy,” he added.
