Commonwealth Games: Nigeria win Silver Medal In Table Tennis

Nigeria’s table tennis team claimed the country’s first medal at the ongoing Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games by winning silver in the men’s team event, Complete Sportshas reported.

The Segun Toriola-led team lost Monday’s final 3-0 to India who claimed gold.

Segun Abiodun lost the first match 3-1 (4-11, 11-5, 11-4, 11-9) to Sharath Achanta while Toriola also suffered a 3-1 (10-12, 11-3, 11-3, 11-4) defeat to Sathiyan Gnanasekaran in match 2.

In the doubles event, the pair of Bode Abidoun and Olajide Omotayo lost in straight sets 11-8, 11-5. 11-3 to Harmeet Desai and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran.
